What is reflexology and what are its benefits?
Reflexology, also known as foot reflexology, is based on the traditional concept of reflexology, according to which specific areas of the feet are linked to different parts of the body. The therapist works on selected points on the sole of the foot using targeted pressure, compression and gentle massage movements. The intensity is adjusted to suit the client’s sensitivity and current condition.
Reflexology should be regarded as a complementary method of body care and relaxation. It is not a substitute for a medical examination or treatment of health problems. The effects of the massage are individual and may vary from one client to another.
Our feet bear the weight of our body every day. Prolonged standing, walking and other physical strain can lead to feelings of tiredness and tension. Reflexology gives them a chance to rest and relax.
Effects and benefits of reflexology:
- relief for tired and strained feet
- relief from tension
- improved blood circulation in the massaged area
- a feeling of lighter, more rested feet
- overall calm and relaxation
